Draft Day Trade For The Bears?
According to Captain Obvious, the Chicago Bears need some help at the wide receiver position. Shocking, right? Well it doesn’t look like the Bears will be able to draft a top flight receiver at the 19th overall selection in the 2012 NFL Draft. So there are some rumors going around that they could try and trade up in this year’s draft.
What may come as more of a surprise, however, is how far up they are rumored to trade. The Bears’ front office has allegedly been discussing the possibility of pulling off a trade similar to what the Falcons did last year in order to draft Julio Jones. You may remember that the Falcons traded their 2011 and 2012 first round picks for the Browns’ 6th overall selection.
Could the Bears attempt to do the same? All indications are that the Rams will trade their 2nd overall pick to a team interested in drafting a quarterback, most likely the Cleveland Browns. The Rams, however, are most interested in drafting a wide receiver this season with Justin Blackmon being the cream of the crop.
This would indicate that the Bears would have to make a trade with the Minnesota Vikings for the 3rd overall pick. That pick will no doubt cost a pretty penny and may be tough to get from the Vikings. There is a lot of speculation involved in this rumor, but it is certainly one of the most interesting.
